Haridi Elaraby
Abdelrahman “Haridi” Elaraby is an Egyptian Olympian and sprint swimming powerhouse who has been breaking national records since the age of 16. Known for his explosive speed in the 50m butterfly and freestyle, he has made history as an African champion, NCAA champion, and multiple national record-holder.
Born in Cairo, Elaraby discovered swimming at a young age, with his mother and sister playing pivotal roles in his journey. By 18, he reached the podium at the Youth Olympics. Moving to the U.S. after being scouted, he competed for Louisville during his undergraduate years and later for Notre Dame as a graduate student, leading both programs to multiple NCAA and ACC titles while breaking records along the way.
Elaraby’s influence extends beyond the pool. As an ambassador for men’s mental health and athlete advocacy, he continues to expand his impact, empowering the next generation.
Now, he has his sights set on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. And he plans on making history.
